About Me
Hey there! My name is Sammi. Born and raised in Ipswich, Massachusetts, horses have been a huge part of my life since I had my first riding lesson at the age of six. Growing up I always wanted a pony of my own, so I worked tirelessly throughout my younger years mucking stalls, feeding, grooming horses for shows and lessons; doing anything I could to afford my leased horses and learn more about equine care and management. It was within this work that I realized my passion and interest in equine health and wellness.

Once I moved to Vermont in my later teens, I wanted to continue my growth in animal knowledge which landed me at the University of Vermont, where I started my career in the veterinary field. Over the past decade I have been able to wear the many hats of the veterinary world; starting as a kennel technician, answering the busy phone lines as a receptionist and educating clients and assisting veterinarians as a technician. My experiences span between general practice hospitals to emergency and referral hospitals, specifically working in small animal oncology and surgery. However, it was eventually my love for horses and the need to educate myself more on how to properly care for my aging thoroughbred gelding Wylie, that I started Ridgeline Equine Nutrition and Performance Services.
